Quiet Heroes in Our Midst

From the time his children were small, Lee Kennedy has led by example and taught his children the importance of doing the right thing. For many years, Lee has supported the Marr Boys and Girls Club in a variety of ways. From spearheading the construction of the Paul R. McLaughlin Youth Center to serving on our Board of Directors and making sure we have the financial resources needed to run our programs, Lee Kennedy has been a quiet hero to so many of our Club’s members.

Today, the second generation of Kennedys has stepped up to the plate. Each of the Kennedy children has followed in their father’s footsteps and now gives generously of their time and talents. Together with his father, Lee Michael serves on our Board of Directors. Shaila Kennedy Garland and Lee’s son Gene work on committees and support our special events/fundraisers. Together as a family, the Kennedys are dedicated and vibrant philanthropists who help to make our Club a positive place for our 4,000+ kids.
